If the 'code' is for Win2k, you cannot use it to install XP. The 'code' ought to work with a copy of Win2k, however. Please, anyone, CORRECT me if this is incorrect. Quote The 'code' ought to work with a copy of Win2k, however. Please, anyone, correct me if this is incorrect. I've ran into situations where this isnt the case. Seems like some CD's only work with a range of keys, not all. you can call microsoft with your info, and they can verify, or straigten out confusion.the only types of CDs that accept different Keys are the OEM (IE, full install) and Upgrade installations. In general their keys are not interchangable. Otherwise, all keys will work WITHIN the same "domain" of keys, such as a OEM install key working for any OEM cd. However, in any case, the key will have to be for the same OS.ok no oem disk/cd guess i'm screwed unless i'm gonna buy a new os. thanksUbuntu. |
