Solve : W7 not genuine??

Answer» Coming up on almost 3 years since I bought this eMachine with windows 7. Then tonight, on the desktop, lower right corner, I get these words....

Windows 7
Build 7601
This COPY of windows is not genuine

I've installed nothing in the last couple of days, and then that was an update to Windows Defender.

Anyone have a clue as to what goes here?
windows 7 home premium
64-bit
AMD Athlon II X2 220
dual-core processor
NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE
3GB DDR3 Memory
1TB Hard Drive
blah blah blah
Just ignore it.
The Windows genuine test is not totally accurate.
Here are links that are an indirect admission that the test is not accdurate.

The article blames your computer hardware.

Why would the cloak have ANYTHING to do with authenticity?

It got to be so bad, there are blogs devoted to it.

... to ensure everyone that we investigate all credible reports we receive of false positives (though sometimes it's hard to chase down the details we need to try to repro reported failures). I hear in the halls sometimes of reported failures taking place but when the dev and test teams reproduce the steps reported the result is, far more often than not, that the software performed as DESIGNED and the failure was due to the software in fact being counterfeit and the customer simply not wanting to believe it.
Does that help any?
IMHO the worst that can happen is your will not get updates.Yo! Thank you. I did a restart and it hasn't reappeared yet. Earlier in the day I ran Malwarebytespro, and after the restart, CCleaner. Running Malicious software removal tool at the moment. Norton's is my anti-virus.

Kinda hoping something bad happens to the machine so I'll have an excuse to get a new one. I'm too frugal to replace a working machine. (grin)

Thanks again for the info. We'll check out the links.
If it comes up again contact MS and they will issue a key to stop it from happening...
They have a Toll-Free #...
