Answer» can anyone explain please why sometimes i can watch programmes like itv video with no problem, othertimes all i can SEE is a rainbow kind of screen. i have windows media player 11 selected as default, windows xp running computer. thanksthis happense to me to , just keep opening and closing the vid till it works.. tried this but makes no differance.what do you mean, a rainbow kind of screen? also, what's video card do you have?At this point in the diagnosis procedure alot more info on the machine in question the version of Windows and what may have happened prior to this would be a Welcome addition...i am using windows xp, it was working ok until comodo firewall wanted to update then it went back to a mottled kind of rainbow screen. this only shows on video such as, at the races, or itv. if i detatch the screen on itv it plays on media player ok. thanks for any help Hello BEL The title of your post says 'watching download VIDEOS' which to me means videos downloaded/saved to your HD & played with WMP, is this what you meant? It is probably now MY ignorance but do you mean an error message 'pop-up' box on your screen or a TV reciever box (piece of equipment) that sits on top of your monitor? I think he means that the part of the program with the actual video can be detached from the REST of the window with all the other stuff.on the itv.com site, the screen for playing the itv channels has the message 'detach player' on top of the viewing screen. You NEED to update the driver of the your display adapter. that should fixed the problem:)thank you very much, the driver install worked perfectly.
