Solve : website logging in problems? |
|
Answer» I am having problems LOGGING into some of the websites I go to. Some would not take my original password and when I had a new one sent to me when I try to log in it just takes me right back to the log in screen. I thought it was just a certain website doing it at first but then found out I was having the same problem on others. I tried using the wrong password to see what would happen but then it would tell me the password was wrong but when I put in the right password it just takes me right back to the login screen like I said. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I am really stumped on this one!1. What internet browser are you using? Sometimes this happens when you have internet explorer set to remember my password and username.which is dictated by the cookies. he said he cleared the cookies. CLEAR your temporary internet files. as in, cookies and cache, and look for a ''forgot your password'' link.Actually that isn't true reaper_tbs. IE (and any other modern browser for that MATTER) have an internal "list" that it can store usernames and passwords too. So when your browser asks you if you want to save your details for a site, that has nothing to do with cookies. Cookies just allow you to stay logged in to a site.that's odd... i must be stuck with the past thanks for the info deerpark sorry for the misinformation buddies. but still, i recommend you look for anything like a ''forgotten your password?'' link on the siteI have used the forgotten my password thing and can log on on other computers just not mine. Is there a way to change my computer if it is suppose to remember my password? I have cleared my cookies and temp internet files again but still nothing. It only seems to be doing it on the websites also that I have used the forgotten password thing. That is weird. Any help still would be greatly appreciated. ( I am a female by the way) lolHere's the method for removing stored passwords in IE: To delete stored passwords in Internet Explorer: • Select "Tools" • Select "Internet Options". • Open the "Content" tab. • Click the "AutoComplete" button. • Click the "Clear Passwords". If the password file somehow got corrupted it may not be logging you in properly... The next time you login with it it should work. Warning ! MAKE sure you have all the passwords you need to remember before trying this method. |
