Answer» But why would 3 hard drives fail to work.....could it be a BAD IDE cable?okay so about the three hardrive: 1. original is PROBABLY fried 2. old one came from a LAPTOP that broke a few years ago(never tested it, so couldn't say if it had bad sectors or not) 3. came from a working computer but as I learned from another forum you cannot PLUG a working HD with an OS from one mobo into another without reinstalling. Bad things. So pretty much disregard the fact that I 'tried' three hardrives in the computer. I'm pretty sure that if it were the cable it wouldn't work at all, I find that cables are either an all or none thing.' EDIT 12 passes with memtest and no errors. Hardrive for sure?After everything you have done it's CERTAINLY pointing at the HDD.
