Answer» Hi - In a recent answer to a question, Allan SAID "Run a full scan of your system with BOTH your anti virus utility AND either MalwareBytes or Super AntiSpyware." Does this MEAN that you don't need both MalwareBytes and Super AntiSpyware? I am running both and also avast Antivirus. Can I eliminate MalwareByte and still have the protection I need? Thanks Bob Are you running both resident or just scanning? You only need one of them running resident, but it's okay to scan with both (no two utilities pick up exactly the same thing). Personally, I only run my AV resident and scan with MB or SAS once every week or two.Allan - Thanks for the reply. I have avast Antivirus, SuperAntiSpyware, and Malwarebytes all INSTALLED at all times. I have plenty of room so space is not a problem. I just want to be sure that one is not interfearing with the other. I guess I will LEAVE THINGS as they are. I have not had any problems in a long time. When something is working don't fix it, just be thankful that there is no problem. Have a good day. BobThere is a difference between INSTALLED and RUNNING (or resident). Avira is resident (always running - you see it in the task bar) - that's good. But you don't need both SAS & MB resident - just pick one (or neither - and scan with them on a regular basis).Allan - Thanks again. I will remove Malwarebytes. BobJust so you know, unless you payed for Malwarebytes you don't have to worry about resident scanning. And there's no reason to uninstall it - just don't keep it running resident.I believe resident scanning is only available in paid MBAM....I believe you're right.
