I do believe they are working to make Windows 7 less resource INTENSIVE, and are also redoing quite a bit of the interface, and improving tablet input. Sounds alrite, its true when you say vista eats at resources a fair bit. It consumes to much memory and eats at your ram. But then I used this handy thing called "The Internet" (anyone heard of it??) to do some research and read about the SuperFetch process. If you have XP now, I dont see reason to upgrade everything unless Vista offers something you really need. If you get a computer with Vista, STAY with Vista. There isnt any reason to downgrade to XP.
