Answer» Visiting daughter with Gateway NV75S32u LAPTOP, AMD Quad Core Proc A-3420M, Win 7, Norton Internet Security. Yesterday the sound worked fine, both internal speakers, and a pair of logitech EXTERNAL speakers. Last night I deleted several garbage programs that had gotten into her HD since my last visit. This morning there was no sound at all, and the DVD wouldn't play movies. I reset some things in the media player, MOVIE dvd's now play, but still no audio - from dvd's, from face book videos, from even WINDOWS sign on. Any suggestions where to look next? I've been all over the various control panel icons.Cancel Cancel Cancel Dumb guy here. My daughter never logs off. She just shuts the top of the LAP top. I just did a proper shut down and restarted - known by all as REBOOTING. Guess what - the sound is working fine again. Thanks anyway.
