Answer» Recently, when I turn my computer on, the icons on my desktop appear in different places than where I painstakingly put them. What would be the cause and how can I eradicate it?
My computer: XP Pro VERSION 2002, SP2; AMD Athlon XP 2400+ 1.99GHz, 1.5 GB RAM, nVidia GeForce FX 5200, Firefox 2.0.0.11 Try right clicking on the desktop to make SURE everything under "Arrange Icons by" is unchecked. There's:
Arange Icons By -> Align to Grid Arange Icons By -> Auto Arrange Arange Icons By -> Name
size, ETC. It sounds like maybe one of those is checked. Let me know how it goes!

I use DIManagerX: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Desktop-Enhancements/Icons-Related/DIManager.shtml Even, if your icons positions got messed up, one click, and they're BACK where they're suppose to be.Someone told me it might have something to do with my screen resolution. I have settings on the side of my Gateway LCD monitor that are "user", "WEB", "picture", "movie", and a couple of others. If thay change the resolution, maybe that's the cause. If you change screen resolution, icons will be bigger, or smaller, but they won't change positions.
