Solve : why is my pc so slow? |
|
Answer» When I got it, it opened up folders in an instant. Now it takes a while to open things up plus the internet is alot slower. When I watch videos on the internet now, they skip and don't play smoothly. I reformatted twice and still no faster. I have win xp sp2 and 1 gb ram if this helps anyone. I have many virus scans and spyware removal tools. They all say that my pc is 100% virus/spyware/etc... free. What should I do?What about processes running in the background? Check this with Task MANAGER. Can I just buy a new cpu like a P4 3.2ghz and drop it in and go? The CPU you can use depends entirely on your motherboard. What MAKE and model is it? Sorry, I couldn't zip it, because I'm a retard. But here is the file. Forum restrictions mean that your logfile has to be split into files of less than 5500 characters and posted sequentially. This is why I prefer them to be archived as there is less scope for error. From what's there, I see Aluria has a large presence, probably dumped on you by your ISP. After Alurias affilliation with WhenU and other producers and purveyors of malware (Which led to the breakup of the ASA), they are certainly not to be trusted.Alright, I'll get rid of aluria and also webroot spysweeper, because its a trial version, and it won't let you even remove the problems after it scans. As for the motherboard, its just a dell dimension b110 and it said it had intel integrated graphics(I bought a new video card) so I'm guessing it is an intel motherboard. Here is the information I got from amibios SMBIOS info: Manufacturer : Dell Computer Corp. Product Name : 0CF458 Version : Serial NUMBER: ..CN7082159TA426. EDIT:::I tried to compress and attach the log file. Please tell me if it worked. As you can see, your archiving exploit was successful and your log is clean! PERSONALLY, I would dump the Google Toolbar and use Foxit Reader instead of the Adobe bloatware. I would also "fix" the following items: R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://www.dell4me.com/myway R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://www.dell4me.com/myway R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.dell4me.com/myway O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MSMSGS] "C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe" /background O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file) O20 - Winlogon Notify: WRNotifier - WRLogonNTF.dll (file missing) These last two items should be fixed regardless of personal choice. My motherboard is a dell de051. |
