Then to make Windows Media Player work for a greater number of file types, I install the latest version of the "K-Lite Codec PACK", for whatever version of Windows I'm dealing with. They are different for XP, Vista and Win-7. I carry all three on my Utilities flash drive. It also doesn't hurt to have the latest version of the "Java" run-time installed.
