Solve : win 7 back to xp?

Answer»

I dont know why I did this but I thought the win 7 ultimate was a better PERFORMER I tried loading back the xp but it keeps going in circles back to formatting I really don't like this win 7 32 bit system, if anyone care to show me the steps to load back xp it would be appreciated ,My wifes computer has win 7 home edition and it has no problems with anything I put in, if I run the same programs on mine it tells me that its missing something.., soo I just want to go back to xp where it never gave me problems i know I need drivers but where do I find them ?First of all, any problems you are having with W7 are on your end, not the OS's. If you want help with W7 we will happily provide it. However, if you want to revert to XP you need to do the following:

1) Back up critical data
2) Boot to the XP CD
3) Format the drive
4) Install XP
5) Install all XP drivers starting with the chipset driver
6) Install a GOOD anti virus app
7) Download and install WINDOWS Updates (only sw, not hw or driver updates - they should NEVER be obtained from Windows Update).1) Back up critical data

I don't know what this means. Please explain in detail. And you are BOOTING to the XP cd, correct (you aren't trying to run it from within Windows)? You cannot install Windows XP successfully after you use Windows Vista or Windows PE 2.0 to create partitions on a hard disk

He has to DELETE the partition. If I turn the computer off ( win 7 is what I have before I turn off ) I am restarting booting with win xp cd ,I go thru the PROCEDURES of what it reccomends, 1 to set up windows press enter 2 to continue installing a fresh copy press esc thats what I do then it just ends up going back to the 2 no xpThen the previous post is correct. Before formatting, delete and recreate all partitions.Ok, finally I got thru I dont know but that was weird ,Im thinking maybe I got a bootleg version of win 7 ultimate, I bought this on ebay ,If I did ..does anyone know how to identify a bootleg , it looks like it should, I just don't understand why it was difficult to run programs on win 7 ultimate,All software did work on my wife 's computer and she has home edition, Well anyway Im back to XP and everything is running as it should no problems with any kind of software add on . Any way I thank all who respondedTo help you determine this",Im thinking maybe I got a bootleg version of win 7 ultimate, I bought this on ebay" try this=
