Solve : WIN 7 Freezes, when particular adobe file read.?

can someone help me figure out a problem im having with my computer, im realitively POSITIVE that this laptop has ALOT of viruses, but EVERYTIME i SCAN the computer to remove the problems... it freezes at the FILE
C:\Program Files (X86)\Adobe\Elements 9 Organizer\CAHeadless\plug-ins\Common\ImporterDirectShow. PM
ive found that everytime that the file is run the computer locks up from it being simply read in from the folder, to trying to scan the computer, i cannot remove the file, due to the fact it freezes when it gets to this file.... any suggestions?
