Solve : win 7.... quick launch from vista and xp question?

i just INSTALLED win7 and i like it, however i lost the use of the quick launch buttons that were a key componet to xp and vista. what i would like to know is that SINCE i have done a clean install is the quick launch gone or can i still make use of this???
