Answer» I can press the start menu button. When I GET in I can select any icon and open that prog.
If I then press the start menu again and enter ,lets say, regedit in the search box and I select regedit it will not open regedit.
Now if i press the start menu button all the ICONS are unresponsive. When i try to select anything within the start menu with the mouse I get the windows default sound. Icons for control panel, shutdown, computer etc not working
The icons on the desktop work perfectly.
John Did you restart your computer after this problem arose?Yes. Everything OK on start up. All icons working until I run some prog from inside Start Menu. It MAY not be the first or second or even third prog but SOONER rather than later it will happen as I explained already.
Btw this is a reinstall I did recently. I never had the computer running as well except for this problem.
