Solve : Win 7 update & Edge browser?

Answer»

A couple of days ago I turned on my desktop and was immediately told to not turn off my computer while Win 7 is updating. I thought they stopped updating Win 7. Regardless, i MADE it run its course and when that part was done, I saw a message, I believe it was either from Microsoft or Verizon asking me to install the Edge browser.
I thought why would they want me to install "Edge" on a discontinued support of Win 7.  Has anyone else RECEIVED these functions lately?  Is this a HACKER? Do you have a screenshot of this so we can see if it LOOKS to be a legit source for message. No, i do not have a screenshot...didn't think of it....but...after Xing out and went thru my usual browsing, it did appear again about installing Edge, nothing more about updating win 7...if it appears again, which it probably will, then i will do a screenshot. Still can't understand why they seem to 'nag' one to install it, unless of course its a hacker. I got the same thing last night as I was switching off my computer. There was the usual message, 'don't turn off your computer'. When I booted my computer this morning I got the same message. When it cleared I got the welcome screen and then I found Edge had been installed on the PC.

I've uninstalled it as I don't intend to use it.
