Solve : Win 98SE and Nero 7 - Administrator rights??? |
|
Answer» I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but I guess I'll start here: I recently purchased a LITEON combo drive so I could burn pictures to cd and watch DVD's. The drive came with Nero 7 Essentials software. Everthing seemed ok (I burned some pictures to cd, played a MUSIC cd, etc.) until I tried to play a DVD. The Nero "Showtime 3" came up ok but then there was a scratchy SOUND and I received the error message "...download required...". I went ahead & did the download - saved it to file & tried to execute it. Seemed ok at first- opened up a bunch of .cab's, but then I received the error message "...administrator rights required to install this software.." and that was the end of that. I've plundered around in my stuff and can find nowhere to set up administrator rights. I'm sorry this is so long-winded, but if someone would get me started on this "administrator rights", I would greatly appreciate it.System REQUIREMENTS for Nero 7 CALL for Windows 2000 or above. I suspect that's your problem. Thanks for your reply. I hope that's not it because the requirements that are written on the outside of the box that the combo drive came in says "...Windows 98SE...". I guess I can just bundle the whole thing up & return it, but then I'll have to fiqure out what to do next.My guess is the requirements stated on the box are for the hardware, not for Nero. But, if so, I would agree that's mis-leading to the consumer. |
