Solve : WIN XP Min RAM needed?

Answer»

BTW, I'm new to the forum, was wondering the net, dropped in, and notice the first test.
Many yrs ago during win xp start, I did run it with only 32Mb, tho 64Mb was better.
Others have TRY less and a search WOULD show this; link,
http://www.winhistory.de/more/386/xpmini_eng.htmSounds painful...L, not when ya come from the days of switches across diodes for ROM, more like funBeen down that road many times.....just have no desire to go back thanx.and some never did the walk, and missed out on a learning lesson.
PDP-8That being said i remember well squeezing THINGS onto a machine that was ill equipped to perform the tasks...
As a matter of fact i'm actually revisiting that ...i'm currently trying to force-feed Win7 64Bit onto an 800Mhz Athlon with 768 of RAM...so i guess it's the same.
I'm determined to get it to work so i have another small networked workstation.

would it not be easier to INVEST in an older SuperMicro PDSLA Pent 4 3GHz for dirt cheap, its a great work horse, newegg has themYep.
But i'm stubborn....
That's how i knew what you were talking about when you started this... well, I was never really a gamer, EVEN when I sold them on floppies way back when, but I do need the puter to run CAD and photoshop without question and some of the older MB's work well if one just changes a few silly setups, even running the net one only needs a silly 386 at most to read a fourm.
My oldest puter has never been turned off and thats about 19 yrs and going, and no problem.
