When you click Add Dir, it will pop up a pick list. Notice that you can only 'drill down' to directories (or folders, if you prefer that term instead). You cannot select an individual file. You can select a directory, and Winamp will add all the music files in that directory at once. You should also see a checkbox that will tell it to recurse sub directories. If you have that on, it means that in addition to the seleced directory, Winamp will also search all directories below it, and add all music files it finds. When you click Add File, Winamp again will pop up a pick list, but this time you can can choose files. ONE at a time, or multiple files if you hold down on Ctrl or Shift. Your best bet is to EXPERIMENT with it for a few minutes, and you'll see the difference in the two functions, and in the future you'll know which one suits you best at the moment. Quote And Q/A 2.
