when my computer starts up in will get stuck in cmos. it will let you navigate thruogh all the options but no MATTER what you PICK you can not get out of it. any help would be great.First off, the computer doesn't automatically go into CMOS by itself. Normally you have to hit a key (Del, for example) or some other key combination to get into the CMOS. YOU have to be the one to make it go there.

Do you have the motherboard manual? If so, find the section on how it TELLS you to reset the CMOS with the jumper settings. The other thing you can do is remove the motherboard BATTERY (looks like a nickel) for awhile, then put it back in. By removing the battery you will help the CMOS 'forget' it's settings and you can start from scratch.

And Windows 2000 or any other operating system has nothing to do with it.There was something under the delete key, it would still function so you could not TELL it was locked on. thanks for the input though.What was under the delete key ? ?
