Answer» Hi, I don't have a question. I just want to share something funny with you guys about Windows 7. Just for FUN, I got a Windows 7 Pro disk. When I installed it on my PC, it is Windows 7 Pro BUT when I install it on VMWare Fusion on my Mac, it gave me a list of all editions of Windows 7, from starter to ultimate, I can choose whatever edition I want. Strange. :} You have to choose the edition that matched your product key. MS has been using a one DVD installation disc since Vista.several WTFs stick out for me.
first, people don't buy Operating System Discs for fun. Installing a operating system or reinstalling a operating system is a menial chore. I suppose you also install AOL "for fun" and play the games that come in those GENERAL mills cereal boxes (on that note does anybody have the monopoly disc? I would trade a WHOLE ONION to anybody who can get me one I'm sorry.... a half onion. I just took a bite and it's making me cry). And what's next? Are you going to play games for "fun" and go to theme parks for "fun" and... oh *censored* nevermind.
Second, you SAY "I can choose whatever edition I want" but really, have you actually selected and tried to install any edition aside professional? Or did you make the (understandable but mildly foolish) assumption that the listbox allowed you to choose all available options rather then the Professional and "below" editions that the Pro License entitled you to install?
ADDITIONALLY, the use of the moustache smiley with an UPSIDE-DOWN moustache... or possibly a cat grin.... or maybe the real *censored* is that the smiley is ambiguous at all! that's right! I'm on a crusade against ambiguous smileys! I'm also a member of the PPOGTP, or "Preservers of parentheses and other grouping type punctuation" So I can say with some passion that when I see the use of a standard smiley at the end of a parentheses, It brings a tear to my eye. On the other hand, I always have a tear in my eye on account of my odd addiction to raw onions. (therapy is progressing nicely, by the way, I no longer rip up crab grass on my lawn in the hopse that they might be onions)
And lastly, and perhaps the biggest of all, is the sense of humour. I personally find a bag of onions falling on the floor and crushing a box full of small kittens to be more humourous then this. Although I must admit that they both bring a happy tear to my eye.
P.S: regarding the monopoly deal, I have no willpower. I finished the onion. I'm a monster! We're on a roll today (I promise not to misuse any parentheses)!I have an original Monopoly disc i'll trade for an Onion...
But it has to be a Vidalia over 6 ounces...Quote from: jkolak on February 19, 2010, 02:17:43 PM We're on a roll today (I promise not to misuse any parentheses)!
And don't get me started on ellipsis...
