Answer» Hi, when my pc has been running for awhile; I get this everytime I use my pc now. ANYONE know how to make this stop poping up?
thanks.
Uploaded with ImageShack.usWhen you installed Microsoft Security Essentials...you should have paid closer attention to what you were installing.
You MAY have skipped over where it asks you to join SpyNet. If you did...the default setting was applied, which is: Join with a basic membership
Now...whenever MSE comes across a file it is not familiar with...it will ask you to submit it for verification with SpyNet.
To disable it...you'll need to make a registry edit.
Navigate to Hkey_LocaL_Machine\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Antimalware\SpyNet\ and set the SpyNetReporting parameter to 0.

Edit...
By the way...
vbc.exe is a process associated with Microsoft® Visual Studio® 2005 from Microsoft Corporation.Do you usually just click cancel or close the window when this comes up? Or do you click send? Looks like the antivirus found something that could be malicious that it doesn't have in its definitions file. So it wants to send the files to Microsoft so that they can determine if they need to add it to a definitions file so other people can benefit. Try clicking send if you haven't, that might make it go away. I don't use Microsoft Security Essentials (although I hear its pretty good), so I'm not sure if this will work. If you click send and it still comes back then the next step would be to either go to the website for MSE and contact support to see what their solution is, or download a new antivirus (avast is another free one), uninstall MSE restart your computer then install the new antivirus. (drastic solution)GlitchPC sounds like he knows what he's talking about I'd try that first! Not sure why MSE doesn't recognize it's own software files, though. Maybe because the file is from an outdated version of Visual Studio.
The link above gives you a couple of ways to disable SpyNet...though, I really wouldn't recommend it...since it is a good way to have files analyzed that aren't being recognized by MSE's definitions.I shouldn't have to reinstall MSE. I'll disable spynet thing. Let U know of progress. I sent the message a couple of times. Nothing happened.
