Answer» Some guy worked on my computer today and changed some of my theme settings. What I am looking for is when you click the desktop background and drag it, it highlights blue. Well, now it is the old windows xp style with the grey dotted outlines. How do you change it??? Please help. Thanks.Step one:
1. First, properly chastize whoever it is took the liberty to change your user preferences.
(XP style would be a alpha-filled blue box; I'm not really sure what your OS is...)
Vista/7 1. Windows Key+Break to open System control panel. 2. ADVANCED System Settings 3. On the Advanced TAB, choose the "Settings" button in the "Performance" frame. 4. ADJUST as needed The DEFAULT ("Let windows choose what is best") is probably what you are after.
XP: pretty much the same thing, EXCEPT opening the system control panel takes you to step 3.
Also, you might need to toggle the relevant option (in your case, "use translucent selection rectangle" off, apply, and then toggle it on and apply.Thank you so much for your help. Wouldn't have found it without you.
