Control Panel>System>Device Manager>Human Interface Devices>USB input Device (Logitech Download Assistant). Doube click. Uninstall driver.

Then Action>Scan for hardware changes and the driver updates itself from MS with Logitech ware.

"logiLDA.dll" error is GONE.

He did not mention a registry cleaner. I still suspect that's what caused this...Could well be. Hope he comments on it. from here

-Run Task manager by pressing CtrlAltDel
-Go to Startup tab
-Find LogiLDA, right click on it and click Disable
LogiLDA is a component of the "Logitech Download Assistant" which is either incompatible with Windows 8.1 or was REMOVED during the upgrade. This might help: http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Keyboards-and-Keyboard-Mice/LogiLDA-dll-Error-on-boot/td-p/846910

Edit: I am using a Logitech wireless mouse with my laptop that I just recently upgraded from Win 8 to 8.1. I ENCOUNTERED no such issue as your problem but I never installed Logitech's software on this computer. When I started using a Logitech mouse with it, with Windows 8, I simply let Windows recognize it, which it immediately did.Logitech Setpoint software offers increased functionality over Windows.

[recovering disk space, attachment deleted by admin]The Logitech panel in your image only contains one setting I do have without installing Logitech's software (SetPoint); that setting is Smooth Scrolling. I'm not sure what Smooth Scrolling is, so that FEATURE might be sufficient justification to install SetPoint; hard to say without KNOWING exactly what Smooth Scrolling is.
