Solve : Windows explorer will not open?

1.	Solve : Windows explorer will not open?
Answer» I am UNABLE to OPEN Windows explorer. When I right click the start button and select EXPLORE all I get is an audio warning noise and nothing else happens. The same thing happens when I click on the start menu and click on My Computer. Even when I create a new folder on my desktop it will not allow me to open it. Please help.What OS do you have? Protection? What are your recent changes? Jonas I have Windows XP, I'm running DefenderPro for my firewall, antivirus, pop-up blocker, and anti spam. The last update I installed was SP2. I do use MS auto update so what ever updates have RECOMMENDED lately have also been installed.Try start -> run and type "SFC /SCANNOW" (You might need the Win XP CD.) And run type "CHKDSK /F /X" Jonas Jonas, Run the check that you SUGGESTED to no avail. I'm still not able to open any folders on their own or Windows explorer. I am able to access all folders through programs like Word or Excel. Thanks for your suggestions anyways.
