Recently, my friend's old computer running WIN XP is encountering problem that causes Windows to freeze after startup. It's not responding to any mouse or keyboard input. The mouse and keyboard are both tested working on other system, and other mouse and keyboard are also tested on this system and it doesn't work either.

It happens like 9 out of 10 times starting the computer. During the "LUCKY" one time when it works, it works normally, except with error messages (Error signature) like these after startup:

Despite error message like above, it will works normally. But other times, no error message, no response.


Note: I posted this on the XP board last week but no REPLY. I assume this could happen on other VERSION of Windows too. Id suggest testing the hard drive with crystaldiskinfo, as WELL as if the drive is healthy plan on a repair installation of Windows XP.
