Solve : Windows has encountered a serious problem...?

Answer»

I have 10 machines and have been given a CD which to IMAGE the hard drive (think this is what it's called) - it uses Norton Ghost to install XP and all the programs needed. It worked for 6 of the machines but for 4 I am encountering the error of:

Windows has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. I went into event viewer and it said: System Error, CATEGORY 102, Event ID 1003. What does this probably MEAN? If the disk worked for all the others does it mean it has to be hardware? But hardware gone on all 4 machines, this seems unlikely.

OS:Windows XP
They are HP machines.

I can provide more INFORMATION tormorrow when I see the machines again. Any ideas?Identical HW on each?Quote from: ADG on August 11, 2009, 02:04:39 PM
