my dad and is tryin to LOAD windows xp pro in DOS MODE onto a western digital caviar 120gig sata internal 3.5" hdd, and it comes up with this error:

C000221 UNKNOWN HARDWARE ERROR
\SYSTEM ROOT\SYSTEM32\NTDLL.DLL

apperantly it is the root drive, and probably a .dll to do with windows NT, im not sure though, if anyone knows how to fix it tell meGoogle for info...  but why in Dos mode :-?

"IMHO...Insert XP cd and restart. Delete both partitions and reformat USING the XP cd. If you cannot boot from the CD-ROM, you can download the setup files from the Winblows support and write directly to floppy and then boot from the floppy instead. The floppy boot will write all your setup files needed and then prompt you for the CD. It WORKS for OEM copies of XP. If I remember correctly, there wasn't a difference between Home and Pro but double check."ok, ill TRY that thanks   it was off of the cd though, but ill tell emBoot from the XP CD and press the F6 key when prompted. You will need the SATA controller driver on a diskette.
