Solve : Windows ME Graphic Problems?

Answer»

Hi there..I've just reinstalled Windows ME on my mums computer. But now that I have reinstalled it the graphics are very big and blocky...and basically not as good as they were before...Is there anything I can do...or will I have to live with it?

thanks for any help

chrisNeed the full system specs...

Did you also install the video driver?Yes we need specs. It sounds like your resolution or color is off.
Try this:
Right click the desktop, click the "Properties", find the "Settings" tab, and change your resolution to 800X600, and apply. If your screen goes all weird, let it sit for 30 seconds. It will change itself back.
If that doesnt work, change it to 640x400. Is that better?
If 800X600 worked, then try also increasing the color amount (using the drop down box, select True Color)
Once again, if things go weird, let it sit for 30 seconds.
If that worked, you MIGHT even try increasing the resolution to 1024X768, and seeing if thats even better.

If none of these worked, what KIND of screen are you using? LCD screens that are not in their native resolution tend to have the problems you are describing. Consult your LCD screen manual (try "Troubleshooting" in the manual) to find your LCD screens native resolution. Quote

Thanks for LETTING me know
1025 would be an interesting resolution value... Hi there! sorry late replies. I've tried changing the resolution but doesnt give me any options. Before I reinstalled the OS the graphics were fine. here are some specs off the PC my mum has:

Pentium 3 Processor
128mB RAM
Standard PCI Graphics Adapter

erm...I dont know what other specs to put..

thanks 4 any help

chrisYou need to figure out what that graphics adapter is and download a driver for it like I said before. When you reinstalled the OS, you ERASED the driver. Now Windows doesn't know what to do with it which is why it looks like crap and you have no options.quaxo right!
you need to know your motherboard name to download the driver, then google it, i guess the first step now is to find the mobo name.
download everest
