I was using SOMEBODY ELS'S computer and was trying to set up a HOME network, when i was propted to restart the computer i did. after that it seemed to take an INCREDIBLY long time to load, so i restarted it while it was at the loading screen doing nothing, then i GET the message that it did not load on its last attempt and could choose normal mode safe mode ect and no matter what i choose it goes to a black screen with a   _   at the top left corner of the screen, and it does nothing.

help me i dont want to be blaimed for this!!!I'll try and answer your question if you try and answer mine... READ "unsolvable Problem?" PLZZZ  Question:

1. What steps have you taken to set up the home network?
2. What software have you installed?

Suggestion:

1. Use or create a Boot diskette and remove the FILES you have installed from the MS-DOS prompt.i did not install anything. all i did was go to the  network setup wizard. some wizard huh. i wonder if this happened because of what i did, it seems unlikly. but this should not just happen for no reason though now should it?Then it seems to me like it was bound to happen sooner or later.use a virus scanner to scan for bugs.....disable system restore..>>>does it have  an anti-vrus program on it... or a firewall??never known winme to re-boot........go back in safe mode a run scandisk......type it after the msdos prompt
