Solve : Windows Media Center 2005 Recovery Console Disks?

Answer»

Hi, I own a Gateway Laptop MX6422 with WINDOWS Media Center 2005 in it. Some days ago I received the message "Unmountable Boot Volume" (The Blue Screen). In order to REPAIR this, (I think) I need to run the Recovery Console but I don't have the Windows CD. I SEARCH for the setup FLOPPY disks in the microsoft webpage but I don't find them. So I don't know what disks should I use. The disks for XP Home or XP Professional? SP1 or SP2?.

I have been trying with the Windows XP Pro SP2 disks and doing what this page says (http://my.opera.com/hippo1023/blog/show.dml/517459) because my laptop doesn't has a floppy unit. But this doesn't seem to work.

Any help?
ThanksDid the laptop ship with a recovery CD ? ?

I would contact Gateway if not...

patio.  8-)jojojosesese...... What happened to the install/restore disks that should have come with the machine ?
Thats what you need to do the repair .
Have you contacted gateway ?

dl65  No. The problem is that I bought it in the States but I live in Peru. So i guess I don't apply for technical support.jojojosesese.........

Where did you get this information from ?

I don't have any of the install/restore disks. I don't know if I could ask Gateway to ship me the disks to here ( I should call them  ). In the case they couldn't send me the disks, Is there any other solution?

Buy them OUTRIGHT, but that's pretty expensive. Asking is free.
