I have just noticed that WMP11 does not RECOGNIZE the letter A as the first song in numerical order. If the song starts with an A, it will place it in order using the second word of the song. The song name stays in order in a regular file. The tag file is correct. Anybody ever notice this and if so, have you found the cure. I guess I am obsessive about having things in order. Thanks.
I'm not entirely sure what you are asking, or how you have your music arranged. Typically, songs are listed by ALBUM, and then the tract order off the album. Do you just have a giant list of songs, not separated by album or artist?

In album titles "the" is ignored, LIKE in "the best of whoever" and it's put in order with all the other albums of that artist.I should add I just started playing around with MP and got a list of songs arranged by song title. My first impression is that you have as much music as I do, it is terrible way to arrange music, but at LEAST now I see what you are asking.I should have said alphabetical order rather than numerical order. I have not noticed WMP not recognizing "the". My music is organized by artist and tags have only the artist and song name. All other info is edited out.
