Answer» Hello, back again after a long rest....lol...but again problems with newly installed WMP....installing W7 no problems, but when TRYING to connect wmp to play a movie, it says, WMP can not play this movie...although music is no problem...what now, something went wrong at the installation? Tried with K-Lite and CCCP Codecs pack, but nope....please advise... Asus AMD 64 3.8Ghz. 4Gb RAM, W7, IE9.0, WSE (works perfect for once), AVG and other defence stuff(they say machine is clean)Hi, what is the FILE format of the movie you are trying to play in Windows Media Player?
Have you tried other media players LIKE VLC? http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.htmlall of them.....quite astonished that no format will play in this newly installed W7 which CONTAINS WMP 11 I quess...and i rather would use the given WMP instead of using a substitute until this case is solved Are these movie DVD's or is it streaming videos ? ?
If the latter it may be a connection issue...and if you try the safe mode, would it work?reply: it does not play any movies at all, neither from the net as from my own downloaded ones...and no safe mode doesnt give any results either, it just plays music and i hear the sound of the movies!! Try VLC and give us your findings.Makes no sense that any player does not work... You need to try a factory DVD movie and a few other players as suggested above... I suspect whatever vids you have DLoaded are no good.formatet HD and re-installed...no problems whatsoever....another example that my PC workshop doesnt do what they are asked for...complained and got my payment back WITHOUT any comments... Pretty drastic manuver for getting WMP to work but glad you're fixed up...
