Solve : Windows not loading.?

Answer»

The last time I tried to start my computer, I got a screen with this message:

Quote

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.

If Windows files have been damaged or configured incorrectly, Startup Repair can help diagnose and fix the problem. If power was interupted during startup, choose Start Windows Normally.

(Use the arrow key to HIGHLIGHT your choice.)

Launch Startup Repair (recommended)

Start Windows normally.

I had this problem a few months AGO and after sending it for repair, I was told that it was due to corruption. But then, I faced this problem again recently. Does anyone know what really is the cause of this?Is this Vista?
Do you have a Windows installation disc?Ouh..sorry that I did not mention the OS as I thought this section was for Vista only. Yeah my COMP runs on Vista. I don't think I have the installation disc.I'm not sure if Quote
Launch Startup Repair (recommended)
needs the installation disc or not. Did you try the steps given in the error box?

i did. I selected Launch start up repair. then I got this black screen with the words "Windows is LOADING file" with a white bar below it. something like this:

                                      Windows is loading file.......
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------  <--  representing the white bar And? Did windows load? If I remember right, there should have been a screen with OPTIONS afterward.
I'm running XP and my Vista PC is not here so I'm trying to go by memory.
No. The thing is, I left it overnight at that point where it says windows is loading... But the next day, it was still showing the same thing.Well this looks like it's going to be out of my league so hopefully someone more experienced will chime in.
Good luck.
BTW, that error you posted in your first post as 'code' makes this page wider than my screen so I have to keep chasing each line to read everything. You can post it as an image
[img] and it will fit the screen.  ouh, really? I didn't know that as it appears fine in my screen. Nevertheless, I will change it to image. Anyway, thanks for trying to help.

Edit: I tried changing to image but it did not appear, so I change it to a quote instead. Thanks! It fits fine now.
Good luck with your PC.
