Solve : Windows not loading?

Answer»

Hello everyone. Just yesterday I had an Adware or Spyware "bug?" get onto my desk computer and when my cpu told me it was on there I couldn't click on start not OPEN some programs, so I had to restart and I thought If I did that I could use this program I have to get rid of it, well I restarted and it got past the screen where you can press f2 or f12, then the first Windows XP window, then the 2nd one where it's loading and it just stops, I went into safe MODE, nothing. It keeps freezing at the same spot.

I don't have the Windows XP CD, but would a boot disk work? I have the disks in order to make one, what should I do? Thank you.Boot into safe mode (F8 when the computer starts, before the Windows logo). Load the program, update if possible and run the scan there.Nothing works and I found out I cannot use a boot disk unless the disk was formatted on a machine using XP, any other solutions.Sooner or later you will need an XP CD. In your case it is sooner. Can you borrow one of the identical type to do a repair installation? Do you have files you need to retrieve? How come no XP CD by the way? Quote

CD got lost. What I will do though is ask some friends and see if they have an XP cd that I can borrow, I believe I did something like this 2 years ago and it worked but that was for a differnt situation.

I don't need any files, I don't care what I lose on the computer because it's nothing important. If none of what I'm going to do works out I'm just going to call Dell tech support and have them send me the stuff I need, but I'm trying my best so I don't have to deal with them. holt1.......Dont you have a anti virus program installed and running ?

please let us know
