Hi guys,im having a problem running a game on my pc,i know my way around a pc but not that much, some of my friends dont know what the problem seems to be so i seeked help on the NET and hope that 1 of you guys can help me.Ok,the game installs on my pc,when i enter the game the logos and movies start, when it LOADS it shuts down and SAYS microsoft encounterd and erros and needs to close, why does that happen and can i fix it?if anybody can help please let know, the game workd on my laptop wich runs the same specs as my pc.plz help.thanxStart by stripping down some of the software that may be running on your computer while you are playing the game...

Click Start, click on RUN, type  MSCONFIG  and click OK

Click on the Start Up tab, click on "disable all", click "apply", click "ok" and restart the computer..

When the computer boots up again, try the game and see if there is a difference.. My first step, would be to find out what is causing the problem, if I was you, I would do the following also

1. Start game, and wait till it closes
2.Start
3. Control Panel
4. Administrative tools
5. Event Viewer
6. Find and give us the Event ID of the error. If strip down some of the software wil it efect my pc or cause errors?Ok i went into the event viewer and found this error under application-faulting application swkotor2.exe,version 2.0.0.0,faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0,fault address 0x0109f259,does it help?Eeviac i done what you sayd but no diffrance, stil does the same,i can hear the games music in the back ground while the error shows, and it says in the error-star wars knights of the OLD republic 2 has encountered a problem and needs to close,we are sorry for the inconvenience, but i can hear the game music playing, does it help?Eeviac i done what you sayd but no diffrance, stil does the same,i can hear the games music in the back ground while the error shows, and it says in the error-star wars knights of the old republic 2 has encountered a problem and needs to close,we are sorry for the inconvenience, but i can hear the game music playing, does it help? I'm wondering if your system meets the required specifications for this game.

Could you please post your full system specs.

1. Computer make/model

2. Are you using a video card (if so, what) OR onboard video?

3. What service pack do you have installed?

4. Are there any anti virus programs installed?

Also.... Have you installed the 1.0b patch for the game from here:

I'm not sure what you mean by this..  The patch did not install successfully?

Try disabling your anti-virus and try again..
