Solve : Windows security essentials and Defender.?

Answer»

I have just installed Windows Sec. Essentials and it seems to be working just fine picking up a couple of trojans. I did UNINSTALL Avast and disabled Defender and Super Antispy as Microsoft suggested and am wondering if I can now enable Defender again, or Super Antispy, as Defender keeps popping up to TELL me that it is disabled and turn it on.
I have Vista home basic, 32 bit.
Many thanks in anticipation.

Q: Is Microsoft Security Essentials designed to replace Windows Defender?

A: No but if you are running Microsoft Security Essentials, you do not need to run Windows Defender. Microsoft Security Essentials is designed to disable Windows Defender in ORDER to manage the PC’s real-time protection, including anti-virus, rootkits, Trojans and spyware.

Superantispyware is an essential antimalware tool, so keep running it once in a while.Hi Broni and thank you once again as you have actually helped me in the past.MSE is working well and I no longer need AVAST.Yes, Microsoft DISABLES Defender if one turns it on again so that problem is taken care of and I have not had any more notifications that it is turned off.
Thanks again,
