Solve : Windows Update and Drive D? |
|
Answer» EVERYTIME I go on my computer, it says I need to install Windows Update, so I do it. I restart the computer and it says that the updates were not configured right. This happens all the time. What should I do? Also, it keeps saying that I have low disk space on drive D. The only thing is that I have deleted my files from Drive D about a dozen times now and THERES nothing left. What should I do?Try following this link -> An update is not installed successfully Could you post your Available and Used space on each partition?I tried your link that you gave me and it doesnt work as I still have low disk drive. Can you please tell me about the used space on each partition? What does that mean? I actually think I posted it somewhere already. If your talking about what I think your talking about, I posted it in the post that I started "My computer is fixed...sort of".Open My Computer then right-click partition drive (C: or D:) or use View menu and choose Details and Free/Total/Used space will be visible. Did you follow the suggestions on the Microsoft link - Repair or Restore? When I clicked on the link Microsoft Fix It came up. I let them handle any problems I had. They SAID everything was ok and I had to restart the computer to install the updates. When I restarted the computer, it said the samething I had before, that the Windows Update were not configured. I think I hit restore and nothing has changed. It still says I have low disk space on Drive D. I have deleted everything I could from Drive D. How many PARTITIONS(C:, D:, E: ....) do you have on the hard drive? Where is your operating system installed? Where program files folder is located, that is where your operating system is, and that is where windows updates should also be. Also post your free and used space by following my PREVIOUS reply. Are you sure you have emptied your RECYCLE BIN?Quote from: jason2074 on September 25, 2011, 09:21:57 PM How many partitions(C:, D:, E: ....) do you have on the hard drive? I do a disk cleanup and I choose either between Disk C or D. I choose C obviously. Now I have deleted some files. I hope this works now. I deleted Recycle Bin stuff, downloaded program files and a couple of other things, which Im not sure of. |
