Answer» Hello people I am new to this site and hoping for some insight. Windows automatic update will not work , bits statues is started but still will not work. This happened after acquiring the windows security VIRUS. Aside from updater the computer seems to be running fine after what i think was a successful removal. I am running xp sp3. I have tried changing bits from automatic to manual and back with no success. Please HELP! What apps have been used in the " removal" ? ?Spybot then malwarebytes. Could not get malbyte to run until DOWNLOADING and running spybot in SAFE mode.Many newer infections block MBAM from running... My guess is you're still infected... Clik Here...For future reference, if something doesn't run when you have a virus, you can often just rename the file and the program will run. This is not always true because some viruses look up the window title, but others just look at the filename.
