Solve : Windows Vista - active x problem?

Answer»

Just got this COMPUTER about 2 week's ago. Haven't been on it much up until now.. It shows in the control panel that we have active x installed but we keep getting the POP up box SAYING to install and some pictures on some sites we can't view. Why is that and how can we somehow activate what we already have?ActiveX isn't a single entity. Web-sites and so forth use them for things. For example, Windows WGA requires a ActiveX control. So the active x flash player is not something that's already installed? -- Do I go ahead and install it even though the computer shows that it's already in my programs??Test it here: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/Thanks Broni. -- I WENT to the site and couldn't view the content the window and saw where it said I needed to get the latest version of flash player so I went ahead and clicked to download and got a page where it says,

-> Adobe Flash Player is not supported for playback in a 64-bit browser. However, you can run Flash Player in a 32-bit browser running on a 64-bit operating system.

Reason
Adobe is working on Flash Player support for 64-bit platforms as part of our ongoing commitment to the cross-platform compatibility of Flash Player. We expect to provide native support for 64-bit platforms in an upcoming release of Flash Player following Flash Player 10.

Solution
To use Flash Player to view Flash content on a 64-bit operating system, you must run a 32-bit browser.

Ok guys,... I am almost totally ignorant to how computers work. So how do I go about running a 32-bit browser? And why do I have active x flash player in my programs if it's useless?

OK. You didn't say ANYTHING about running 64-bit Windows, so here we go...
When you go Start>All Programs, you'll see two instances of IE:

Internet Explorer (location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe)

Internet Explorer (64-bit) (location: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe)

The first one is 32-bit.
!! I LOVE YOU, BRONI!!!!! It worked!!! Thank you so much!!!Cool
