Solve : windows vista, disk clean up? |
|
Answer» Hello
Hello BC_programmer How doe's it look in more places, i thought there was only one folder where tempory internet files are stored, "are there hidden tempory internet files" I have just ran disk clean up again and disk clean up says tempory internet files 0kb In ccleaner, with nothing else checked only "temp internet files" it removed 38MB. Quote additionally it removes more then just temporary internet files. I know it removes more than just Temp internet files. If i check "tempory internet files" only in ccleaner I expect only tempory internet files to be removed, so what else is it removing If only this is checked why the big difference compared to disk clean up Quote from: carlrowley1 on July 16, 2009, 11:13:39 PM I expect only tempory internet files to be removed, so what else is it removing Yeah BC come on..... explain. Easy. Windows disk cleanup only looks at internet explorer. CCleaner looks at firefox. If you don't use IE, then you'll have very little in the way of temporary internet files according to it; but CCleaner will pick up Firefox temp files. Which MAY raise the question: Why do I have so many? I don't use Internet Explorer! Well, It's because I read a lot of eBooks and so forth, in CHM format (which uses the IE engine, and thus stores temporary files).Quote from: BC_Programmer on July 17, 2009, 05:20:56 PM Easy. Hello BC_programmer I don't use firefox, i have it installed though, but very RARELY use it only when IE is playing up I am always using IE and every other day or so delete tempory internet files, so are some of these files from firefox that ccleaner is deleting. Surly i would be seeing the firefox icon in the browser, when i am viewing webpages, but i don't its always IE icon. Still a little confusedyou can always compare the two lists, and see what CCleaner has more... Quote from: BC_Programmer on July 18, 2009, 08:46:49 AM you can always compare the two lists, and see what CCleaner has more... hello BC_programmer Maybe this is the answer but i won't know yet for a bit, i was running disk clean up on a standard account, but when i ran it on the admin account it brought up a lot more files for deletion, so is this why ccleaner is deleting a lot more files , because it is deleting them from the standard account and the admin account all at once I feel so stupid if thats the reason... The standard win cleanup cleans from all accounts as well. It gives you the option on start up.Quote from: Mulreay on July 18, 2009, 12:21:54 PM The standard win cleanup cleans from all accounts as well. It gives you the option on start up. So thats the answer then, i was just using the "my files" option, where as ccleaner is deleting everything from all users. Well i am the only user, but i see whats happening now. This is being on the computer to long, its not doing my brain anygood how stupid of me not to realise |
