Answer» I have a old Windows 98 a computer and decided to put Windows XP on it. Everything works fine until the time is at 0 at the end of installation and then it goes into a black screen and stays there even though the computer is still on. What do I do? Please help I would check the system specs to SEE if you have enough horsepower to run XP on that machine. You can DLoad and install Everest Home and run a report on your machine. Save it as a text file and post the computer summary portion here.It is actually a friends computer and the Windows 98 is corrupted so I can't even boot up in anyway.Reinstall Win98 and go from there... Or throw a LINUX Distro on there...Ubuntu is good.That is what I was going to TRY next but I MIGHT have to do 2000 instead of 98 because I don't know if I have a 98 DISC.
