Solve : Windows XP is not genuine?? |
|
Answer» Hello, guys how are you doing? i have a problem with windows XP. microsoft detects that my windows XP is not Genuine. so, that MEANS i have to buy the new windows XP SP2. right now the problem is with the installation windows. i don't want to format my PC because i have installed the new Norton internet security 2008. then if i format it i will lose this security. my question is, if i upgrade do you think that my window becomes genuine? what about my anti-virus? please guys i need to this issue before i start upgrade thank you very muchHow many times did you active xp? There is a limit of about twenty times that you can after that it wont activate cause it LOOKS for hardware changes. You shouldn't have to buy service pack two however it was made to fix some errors so upgading mite allow you too if you havent reapeatly installed xp an activated it.Hi, had the same problem so have a few friends of mine, we are here in Hungary and there are no consumer protection laws to speak of so this problem if rife. Afraid you will need to go through the procedure, check your Windows version on the Windows wesite, hold your hands up to an invalid version and buy the validation pack, about 150 dollars. Then you can either have a a CD delivered (which is advisable if you ever need to re-install your system) or download a valid Key. There is a a facility on the Genuine Advantage page to VALIDATE your copy of Windows with the key you have purchased without having to re-install so all your stored info will be retained. Hope this helps. Regards, Kingy thanks guys but i am not satisfied. any how i will try to upgrade it. and see what will happen see you Contact MS through their 800 #...
