Solve : Windows XP not loading?

Answer»

I have Windows XP installed on my PC and it loads only in safe mode. When I start my PC normally, Windows XP does not load; I have on display on my screen. I changed the monitor, but the problem is still the same. What could be the cause and How can I solve the issue? What did you do before this? (any DOWNLOADS, installs, ect....)

Can you try performing a System Restore in Safe Mode?Actually I did not download anything before this. I tried System Restore in Safe mode but problem still the sameOk, so when you start the Computer, exactly WHAT happens?

Start it like:
I PRESS the power button and then the fans start spinning. The manufacturer logo comes on, ect.......

We need to know exactly what the symptoms are.OK! I switch on power. I get this message "Press F1 to continue or Del to enter set up". I press F1 and from this point there is nothing displayed on the screen. However if I press F8 after pressing F1 i get into safe mode and WIndows loads.Dell Setup? Strange....

You haven't changed any BIOS Settings or touched your hardware have you?

Also, do you know what the model of your computer is?No its not a Dell. I did not madify anything in BIOS. Unfortunately i dont know the model. Any error MESSAGES when you try to boot normally?

When you get the menu to choose to boot into Safe Mode, can you try Last Known Configuration?

Also, do you have the Windows CD?I get the warning "Hard disk failure may be imminent". I did not try Last Known Configuration. I have the Windows CD. Btw i tried a chkdsk but i got this message "The volume is in use by another process. Do you want scandisk to run at next startup". I said yes. AT next start up the scandisk was run. still the problem remainsStop Using The Computer Now!!!
Or you will risk loosing all your data.

Do you have another computer or access to another one?Unfortunately i dont have another computer Is there no other way out?If you cannot gain access to another computer (to put this current hard drive in as a slave to back up your files), I suggest GETTING CD's and/or USB Storage Devices and back everything important up in Safe Mode.
Just in case your hard drive is failing.
