hi guys, i was just hoping that somebody can HELP me out with this problem please, last night i went round the girlfriends and her dad has just got a acer laptop which had norton on already installed, so i told him about the problems with norton and told him to use AVG . So i put it onto his computer and loaded it and when prompted restarted then realising i hadnt uninstalled norton! the computer rebooted and came on fine, but then i noticed that the taskbar only contained the clock and whun i put the cursor over the start tab an egg timer comes on instead of the arrow and i cant click on any desktop items, on the few times i have been able to click start and try to head to control panel it just freezes, it wont boot in safe MODE either, can anybody help with this please?

Norton Removal Tool

 
1) Use Add Remove Programs first and un-install Norton...
2) From Windows Explorer search for any folders named Norton and Symantec and delete them...
3) DLoad and install ERUNT and have it make a backup of your registry...
4) Open regedit and type Norton in the search bar. Delete all entries it finds. F3 takes you to the NEXT  instance of Norton. Continue til you have reached the end of the registry...
5) Repeat the above process using Symantec instead in the search field. Delete any Symantec keys it finds...
6) Now run the Norton Removal tool you DLoaded...
7) Empty the recycle bin...
Go to My Computer and right clik the C: drive and select Properties and run disk cleanup...
9) Re-boot and run disk defrag....
 
There you're done !
