Answer» How to load windows xp on a pen drive so that i can boot from USB port using it.XP by design cannot be booted from an external device without quite a bit of hammering and FINAGLING...it's not a project for the weak of heart. This is done intentionally by Microsoft.http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/09/09/windows_in_your_pocket/A few notes: You are going to NEED a rather quick flash drive if you expect speed. The system, being its designed for quick access, will better work on a hard drive. I would actually disable virtual memory if you are running it off a flash drive.
Second note: Windows PE, though great for some things, is quite different from Windows. In all fairness, I thought I would mention that, its like Windows, but not exactly. Since its kind of a... As i said it takes a lot to do this successfully... Graba thumb drive and have at it.I have used PE Builder for loading Win Xp on Pen Drive 1 GB, it worked but the only problem is that it is booting on the very same machine from where it is installed, on any other machine it is showing the message nt loader missing, can comment on this.
