Solve : windows xp pro installation?

Answer»

I am in need of help

I have a windows xp pro CD it has installed on about 5 other computers perfectally fine. (old models) i have 1 computer that it does not want to install properly on. i have tested the ram (good) switched hard drives and tested both (good) i have reset default bios and fail safe bios. i have switch CD ROM drives. loaded Linux using the drive that's in it right now with no problems. i am stuck any ideas?Could you please explain " install properly". Does it install and not work? Does it freeze while installing? Do you get any error messages?POST alot more info on the machine...and what happened prior to this to require a re-install and someone will be along shortly...1. With the system info that you're going to provide, please include the "release" date of the BIOS and the total capacity of the hard drive for the PROBLEM computer.

Yes... For instance, does it copy files from the CD-ROM and then "freeze" or "hang" on the first restart? In your own words please.well i have got it now.

Something with it not LIKING have the two ram chips in at the same time. 2 512MB same type and brand..... anyways it would partion fine. But the copying of files right after partitioning it would give me messages like failed to copy ____.ddl or ______.,,, it would say this certain file failed to copy. Linux installed on it just fine so i knew EVERYTHING worked. but xp pro just didn't like having 1024MB ram in this specific machine during installation.

10 gig hard drive.
2.2 AMD processor
1024 MB ram 512 MB used for installation
CD ROM drive
integrated graphics
and some other stuff but thank you for replying
