Solve : windows xp pro setup failure?

Answer» HI, I've been trying to install WINDOWS xp on a ELITEGROUP notebook after the windows crashed on the PREVIOUS HD, but when the windows setup STARTS to copy files, at halfway from the end it stops(the file coppying) and projects the filename couldn't copy and says for exemple:( the file printui.dll wasn't copied corrrectly. The file setup on your HD is not a valid windows xp image. ther may be a problem with the CD).
I have to mention that the CD is new and genuine, ELITEGROUP laptop with windows xp pro,632 RAM, intel pentium M, new WD HD, i also noticed that the files It wouldn't copy are with dll, extentions,THANK you for your help.Try cleaning the CD with a soft clean lint-free cloth.

Also if there are any power saving features in the BIOS as there usually are in laptops turn them all off temporarily.

And use the AC plug instead of the battery til you are installed.

Was the laptop having any shutdown issues prior to this ? ?
