Solve : Windows XP sound recorder not working?

My microphone is hooked up...when I tap on it you can hear sound..but yet when I go to SOUND RECORDER...I can't record anything!!!!!!!! HelpWhat operating system are you using?

For recording voice, you might TRY using Audacity, a free audio recorder

Have you SELECTED a input under Tools>Options in the Sound Recorder? Quote

Lol...

Try going to Start - All Programs - Accessories - Volume Control.
Make sure the microphone is unticked and high.
