Solve : Windows XP sp3 problem? |

Answer» I followed the MS website instructions for installing SP3. It did not INSTALL properly and I had to use system restore to clear the junk that had been installed. Tried again, and again it failed to install correctly, this time I had to reboot from DISC as the system would not start. Tried a third time and it installed OK, but the system BECAME so slow that I had to uninstall it. Now I have three bluetooth icons and three add or remove software icons in my control panel. How do I remove the extra icons (you cannot just click on them and choose delete).Either delete the .cpl files from the WINDOWS folder or use tweakui to manage the control panel icons.I installed tweakui and my problems fixed, thanks Alan. |
